Leaking Pipe Repairs or Replacement

Storm Water and SEWER Pipe Leak Detection
We are equipped to carry out leak detection & repairs on all pipe sizes including Storm Water & Sewers.
Primary Leak Detection Methods
Leak detection using Gas
We use tracer gas, which is non-destructive and does not dissolve in water. Tracer gas is a 5% Hydrogen and 95% Nitrogen mixture which is non-flammable, non-toxic and safe for the environment.
The gas will escape from the pipe system and make its way to the surface should there be a leak.
The gas is detected by our highly sensitive locating devices indicating the location of the leak.
Electronic Water leak detection
An electronic leak detector is equipped with a transducer that is sensitive to sounds coming from a system of pipes.
If a sound registers on the machine, it is transmitted to the security system at a higher frequency.
The amplified leak is then detected and can be attended to.
Other Leak Detection Methods
Finding leaks in your plumbing can require the use of many different methods and is best left to a professional plumber that understands the different methods. Other than the methods mentioned above, we also use Audio Leak Detection, Thermal Imaging Leak Detection and make use of Leak Detection Dye all dependant on the situation…
leaking pipe Repairs
When finding leaking pipes, this usually results in us having to repair or replace the the damaged pipe(s), joints and/or sanitary ware.
To carry out the repair, we have to expose the area where the leak has been identified, which unfortunately means that we often have to break open walls and/or floors to fix the leak (please see our notice below).
We will use the least destructive method to gain access to the damaged plumbing to assist in keeping the repair cost to a minimum. See important notice below…
Important Notice
Please note that when we fix leaking plumbing we do not carry out the construction or landscaping repairs to fix exposed areas.
It is the clients responsibility to find a suitable construction firm to repair broken walls, floors, tiles and/or landscaping.
Recommendation: We also recommend that structural repairs are only carried out a week or so after the leak repair has been completed to ensure the leak issue has been resolved. Often a repair in one place can trigger a leak in another especially when the plumbing consists of older metal pipes and joints.
