Pipe Blockages and Drain Cleaning
Drain Cleaning can be as simple as using the correct chemicals to break down the foreign substances blocking the drain, or as complex as having to use specialised equipment to find, clear and repair the blockage. It may even require the removal and re-fitting of Sanitary Ware and Plumbing Infrastructure.
Blocked Drains can be caused by Plant Roots, Soil Movement, Cracked Pipes, Weak Plumbing Joints, Oils and Grease, Hair and or other foreign matter that has entered the plumbing system.
Depending on the severity and the location of the blockage, we have a variety of tools to locate and tackle all Drain Cleaning jobs.
Tree and Plant Root Removal
By far one of the most common causes of blocked drains is from the roots of various trees and plants.
Plants have an uncanny knack for finding water sources and condensation on underground pipes attract them. The plant roots will either find a gap in a joint or a crack in the pipe and force it’s way into the system, blocking the drain or pipe.
Once located, Drain-it makes use of our powerful Vacuum Jetting systems, which use high-pressure water to break down the roots. We have various nozzles that turn the high pressure water into a cutting tool, breaking down the roots, while preserving the plumbing infrastructure (unless pipes are already broken).
In severe cases where pipes and joints have been damaged, these will need to be replaced…
